Relevance of Vedic Education at Divine Play School
The Vedas are the oldest known Sanskrit scriptures attributed to ancient rishis. In the epic Mahabharata, their creation is said to be the work of Brahma -the almighty god of creation. Vedic education is a way of living focusing on all-round personality development of the individual. We are developing 108 thought schools based on the rishis and the gotrakars of India where we are establishing 108 shiva lingas in a special ritual room around 125 km radius of Shri Ayodhya Ji.
Divine Play School follows day boarding as well as a residential schooling system which focuses on teaching the principles of Vedas. All are considered equal where the guru and shishya live in the same house.
Simplicity of living, a strict schedule and respect for the elders are principles emphasized at a Divine Play School. Spirit of Equality and Spirituality is developed amongst the individual in the form of prayer, yoga and meditation. In today’s competitive world, these practices help reduce stress and anxiety among students.
About Divine Play School
We wish to offer the children in India the same world-class quality and international standards of education that are enjoyed by millions of families across the world. Spirituality and traditional values are the basic principles taught in our institution. The accommodation and food are simple and basic, similar to the one in Vedic times.
Divine Play School runs with people's participation and contribution. The institution combines Vedic Education with modern day subjects to ensure you get the best of both worlds. The Vedas are recited as given in the ancient texts. The students are encouraged to engage in yoga, meditation and other physical activities.
We believe that every child is equal to each other and has something best to show this world, for that we are always focused on each child. So we are determined to become a play school with all facilities and academies that a child needs and offer education to everyone.
Divine Play School involves many activities from ancient times like cow dung plastered floors, organic food and fresh milk from the cows that are bred nearby. We stress more on the Vedic texts, arts and sciences outlined in the ancient texts.
Unlike modern day education, Divine focusses on all-round development of an individual— physically, mentally, and emotionally. A healthy balance of traditional Vedic system and modern education is what the Indian education system needs.
Mission of Divine Play School
Personality Development
Through Vedic education, we focus on developing the individual personality through self realization and self respect. We help in building self awareness through daily tasks focusing on physical, mental, and emotional development.
Preservation and Spread of Culture
A large part of the education is dedicated to our traditions, cultures and rituals. We focus on preservation of our heritage by teaching students three ethics principles — for the gods, to the past gurus, and the ancestors.
Achieving Enlightenment
Prayers and rituals both are performed daily and at important milestones such as birth, marriage and death. These practices teach each student the importance of the non-physical world. Thus, focussing on laying an equal emphasis on both body and soul.
Character Formation
We help form character by encouraging a simple life through the principles of vedic education. Their lives ran according to a strict schedule away from the materialistic pleasures, comforts and luxuries. Plain food, good behaviour and high ideals were encouraged. We not only teach the students but watch over their moral behaviour as well.
Practical Education
Hands-on training is given to the students along with vocational training which includes weaving, pottery and a number of other arts and other professions.
Performance of Civic and Social Duties
In our Gurukul, we help students realise their responsibility to society. All live as equals and participate in all daily tasks involving cleaning and keeping their residence in liveable conditions.
They are made aware of the importance of being good individuals, utilizing their wealth not only for their own wants, but for the good of society, honor the codes of whatever professions they may choose in future etc.
Vision
The architects of the Divine Play School follow the educational programme which promotes the development of a balanced and harmonious personality of the students.
Our educational programme is distinct from the prevailing education pattern which emphasizes more on book learning neglecting all other aspects of education.
Divine Play School aims for a full and balanced development of students' personality in the form of 'Panchmukhi Shiksha' which attempts a balance of the five aspects of education, namely Physical, Practical, Aesthetic, Moral and Intellectual.
